Brexit has shown that the people do not agree with the European project. By refusing to listen to the French and Dutch referendums in 2005, the governments have tried to build Europe by force. It is now clear that there is a fracture between the citizens and the elites over the building of Europe.
Moreover, there is no European people, but peoples in Europe. The European Parliament no longer has any democratic legitimacy. The centre of gravity for politics in Europe should be national parliaments.
We call for the holding of referendums in all member states of the European Union so that citizens can say whether they truly want their country to be a member of the European Union.
We stand for national and popular sovereignty, which means power exercised by the people and their representatives in the interests of the nation.
